The Method

Does it actually get burnt-on crust off?

Yes, but it works best as a system. Spray the degreaser first and give it a minute to soften the fat, scrape off the thick stuff, then let the brush do the rest. On a grid that has been left for weeks, expect a second pass.

Will the bristles come off in my food?

Give the grid a quick wipe after cleaning, the same as you would with any brush. We would rather tell you that than pretend it never happens with any brush on the market.

How long does the battery last?

Battery can last up to 6 hours. It charges with the included cable from any USB adapter.

Can I use it while the grid is still hot?

Let it cool down first. It is safer for your hands and easier on the heads. The degreaser also works better on a cool surface.

What is the sponge head for?

Flat surfaces and the finishing pass — griddles, hotplates and wiping the loosened grease off once the bristle head has done the scrubbing. You get a spare in the box.

Which setup should I get?

If you already own a degreaser and a scraper, The Brush is all you need. The Clean Grid Kit gives you the full system for R300 more. The Pitmaster Set adds gloves and tongs, which makes it a proper gift.
